Searching BizzyDay is completely free and you don’t need an account. Just open the app (or bizzy.day) and start looking.

What you can search by

You can find tradespeople four ways — combine them to narrow things down:

Trade — start typing (“electrician”, “plumber”, “roofer”) and pick from the list. BizzyDay understands common variations, so “sparky” finds electricians.
Postcode — enter your postcode so results are ranked by how close they are to you.
Name — searching for a specific business you’ve heard about? Type their name.
Dates — pick the day or range you need the work done, and BizzyDay shows who’s free then.

Setting your distance

By default, BizzyDay looks nearby and widens out. You can set how far you’re willing to look:

5 miles — local only.
10 miles — your town and around it.
50 miles — a wide net for specialist or larger jobs.
Nationwide — anyone, anywhere (useful for trades that travel).

Results are ordered by real distance from your postcode, so the closest available tradespeople come first.

Reading your results

Each result card shows you, at a glance:

The tradesperson’s name and trade.
Their distance from your postcode.
A snapshot of their availability for the dates you chose.
A blue verified tick if BizzyDay has verified them (what that means).
A link to their verified reviews (Google Reviews, Checkatrade or Trustatrader) where available.

Tap any card to open the full profile, where you can see their live calendar and get in touch.

“Unclaimed” listings

You may see listings marked as unclaimed. These are real UK businesses imported from the public Companies House register that haven’t joined BizzyDay yet — so they don’t have a live calendar. They’re included to make your search more complete. If one is your business, you can claim your listing.

Tips for better results

Add your postcode — without it, results can’t be sorted by distance.
Be flexible with dates — searching a range instead of a single day surfaces more available tradespeople.
Widen the distance for specialist trades that are thinner on the ground.
Try related trades — a “handyman” may cover small jobs you’d expect a specialist for.
